<method>10 mL portions of (2) are pipetted into glass vials, following which, varying amounts of (1) were added to each bottle by direct weighing. The vials were shaken overnight. When two vials had been obtained, one clear and one with excess hyrocarbon and containing amounts differing by less than 1 mg, the two values were averaged and the mean taken as the amount solubilized.</method>
