Original Measurements

Vázquez, G.; Chenlo, F.; Pereira, G.; Afinidad 1994, 51, (No. 453) 369-74.

Variables:

Ambient temperature: 298.1 K
Pressure: 1.013 bar
Mass density: γ2/g L-1 = 0 - 160

Prepared by:

R. Crovetto, P. Scharlin

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:

The apparatus is a combination of previous designs (Refs 1 and 2). It was modified to achieve a more accurate determination of the volume of the absorbent liquid. The apparatus measures the volume of absorbed gas as the volume of mercury that must be supplied to the system in order to restore the initial pressure.
The raw solubility data obtained are gas/ liquid volume ratios. A detailed description of apparatus, method and procedure is given in Ref. 3.

Source and Purity of Materials:
  1. Commercial, purity 99.5 mole%.
  2. No details given.
  3. Distilled and degassed.
Estimated Errors:

Ambient temperature: δT/K = ±0.1
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): δc1/c1 < ±1% [estimated by compiler (PS) on the basis of the information in Ref. 3]
Pressure: δP/bar = ±0.001
