Original Measurements
Stoilova, D.; Bulg. Chem. Commun. 25, 249-57 (1992).
Variables:
Ambient temperature: Composition at 25 °C
Prepared by:
St. Trendafilova, Chr. Balarew
Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The method used was the isothermal decrease of supersaturation. Equilibrium was reached in 10-15 h. The calcium content was determined complexometrically. The chloride ion content was determined volumetrically by the Mohr method. The calcium formate concentration was estimated by difference. The composition of the ideally suction-dried solid phase was determined by the Schreinemakers method. X-ray diffraction and DT analysis were also used.
Source and Purity of Materials:
- The calcium chloride was p.a. grade (Merck). The calcium formate was prepared by the reaction of dilute formic acid with calcium oxide, carbonate or hydroxide, all of which were p.a. grade (Merck or Fluka).
Estimated Errors:
Ambient temperature: No information is given.
Mass concentration (m/v) (1): No information is given.
Experimental Values:
Solubility values in the Ca(CHO2)2-CaCl2-H2O system at 25°C.
